99 Taurus right wheel makes a soft plop or bumping sound when I go over uneven road, what is it?

Control arm bushing is my first thought. It could be a couple of things. That's what I would check first - if you don't know what you are looking for find someone who does. It could even be a bad strut or a wheel bearing - however if it is either of those it will get worse rather quickly.
