Betta HELP!! 10 points best answer:)?

If I keep some "betta friendly" fish in a tank next to my betta's tank for like a month, then introduce the fish in tank number two to my betta's tank will my betta be more ok with the new fish than if I just plopped the new fish in? THANKS :)
